What should I do if the student or tutor can’t hear each other during a tutoring session?

Troubleshooting audio issues when the student or tutor can’t hear each other during a session.

Here are the steps we recommend to help solve our most common audio issues:

  • Perform a full restart of the applicable device.
  • Unplug the headset and plug it back in.
  • Check that the device’s default sound setting is set to headset (Default Sound Tutorial).
  • Check that all of the necessary permissions have been enabled for the chosen web browser (Microphone & Camera Permissions Tutorial).
  • Use a backup headset. If no backup headset is available, please consider allowing the student to tutor without headphones for the day in a space where they will not bother others.
