What should I do if my student's camera isn't working?

Steps to troubleshoot when a student’s camera isn’t working during a session.

Here are the steps we recommend to help solve our most common camera issues:

  • Check that the student doesn’t have the camera turned off.
  • Check that the device’s camera isn’t being used by another app (close app).
  • Check that all of the necessary permissions have been enabled for the chosen web browser (Microphone & Camera Permissions Tutorial).
  • Perform a full restart of the applicable device. 
  • Troubleshoot the WiFi the device is connected to, as it may be a connection issue.
  • If the camera isn’t working but the student can be heard by the tutor -
    please allow the student to continue with the lesson and continue to
    troubleshoot after.
