How does OnYourMark’s program work?

An overview of OnYourMark’s structured, data-driven literacy tutoring model and curriculum.

Tutoring Overview

How does OYM tutoring work?

Step 1:

School leaders identify the students they want us to serve that need Tier 2 and Tier 3 intervention and support. School leaders identify a 20-minute tutoring block(s), 4 days a week for the selected students.

Step 2:

The DIBELS assessment forms the basis of our data-driven, personalized instructional materials.

For districts that do not use DIBELS, OYM will assess students at the beginning, middle, and end of the school year to track results and ensure students are achieving skill mastery.

For districts that use DIBELS, OYM will gather assessment data at the beginning, middle, and end of the school year from district leaders to track results and ensure students are achieving skill mastery.

Step 3:

Each student is assigned two target critical skills based on their DIBELS results and are paired with a student with aligned critical skills. Tutors prepare scripted, research-based curriculum to provide instruction customized to meet individual student needs in 1:1, 1:2, or 1:3 tutor-to-student ratio sessions, depending on the district's operating agreement.

Step 4:

Tutors assess their students biweekly and adjust lessons as students increase reading proficiency. Monthly progress reports are provided to campuses.

Step 5:

OYM meets regularly with our school partners to share results and ensure the partnership is running smoothly.
